It was Tcvealed to-day that in an unofficial trial of tho speed-boat ‘‘Miss England II.” last night, on Lako Windermoro, Sir Henry Segravo covered a measured mile at a speed of 109.8 miles on hour. This is 17 miles above the present record speed. • It cannot, of course, bo accepted for record purposes, bccauso timekeepers were not officially present, but Sir Henry Segravo said: "Wo have verified the speed. It is an amazing performance. I now know Miss England will do 120 miles an hour on full throttle. I intend to go for an official record to-morrow.” All arrangements are now ready for the actual attempt. A now propellor is on the way to replace one damaged in last night’s trial.

The world’s record for racing boats without any limitations as to hull and engines was established by Gar Wood with his "Miss America V 11.,” the ■average speed being 93.123 m.p.h. At Venice "Miss America VII.” did not attain more than 90.6 m.p.h., while Sir Henry Segrave’s "Miss England” averaged 92.8 m.p.h.

Stronger Propellor Wanted Received Thursday, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, Juno 12. Later in tho evening in the calmest water Miss England did 101.9 miles per hour. ■ The propellor used on Tuesday was of bronze and failed to withstand the pressure of the water. Sir Henry intends to use a new highly tested steel propellor on Thursday.
