Dannevirke Annex Bebbington Shiled
Per Press Association. PAHIATUA, Last Night. In the Bebbington Shield challenge match Bush lost the shield to Dannevirke 14—3 on a sodden ground. Showers fell during the game which was confined mostly to tho forwards. With the wind at their backs in the first spell Bush did all the attacking but failed to make the most of their opportunities, three handy penalties being missed. Mahoney scored Bush’s only try. Dannevirkc were well on top in the last half, both forwards and backs proving too fit. For Dannevirkc tries were scored by French and Mills one being converted by Setford who kicked two penalties. Tho winners now hold the shield for the first time, thoroughly deserving an Unexpected victory
