Jury Finds Motorist Guilty of Driving Car so as to Cause Death
Per Pres# Associatlcm.HAMILTON, Last Night. On a change of negligently driving a ear as to clause the death of Norman Stephen Bradley on April 12, a middleaged farmer August Herman Dcmlar, laced judge and jury in the Supreme Court to-day. The Grown showed that the fatality ct-currcd on the lirst day of April when there were races at Tcrapa. Bradley, who lived nearby, was walking home along tho grass margin of the road and hud stepped off the grass to cross the road when he was. knocked down by Demlar’s car and killed. It was a charge,against Dcmlar that he failed to keep a proper lookout and that the brakes of the car were defective. In evidence it was shown that the car travelled S 5 or 40 yards before pulling up. A son of accused told the bench that deceased stepped suddenly in front of the car. No brakes in the world would have saved Bradley. He alleged that the car was shifted some distance after the accident out of the way of the race traffic.
