De Luxe Talkies, Dannevirke

“The Hollywood Revue” Metro Goldwyn-Mayer's large musical alltalkie attraction, Which opens to-day at the De Luxe theatre, Danncvirke, for a day’s season differs from all the other singing and dancing films, so far produced, in that it is distinctly of tho revue school of entertainment rather than of the musical comedy type. It consists of songs, dances, skits, tableaux and “blackouts,” with no connecting story. In the east are most of the prominent players at the M.G.M. studio and a host of stage celebrities. Commencing on Wednesday for a three nights’ season and a special matinee on Thursday, Gloria Swanson will be seen and heard in her first all-talking and singing attraction “The Trespasser,” which is declared by critics as the best talkie yet released. “The Trespasser” is a drama of modern life, with Chicago’s upper social strata providing its setting. It is regarded as the most forceful story yet to come from the pen of Edmund Goulding, who has attained outstanding success as playwright, novelist, scenarist and director, Intending patrons are advised to make early reservations at the Gramophone and Radio Company (opposite Andrew’s hotel) phone 2595.
