Maoris Seeking, a Royal Commission

W AIT AN GI TREATY REVISION. The conference of Maoris at Ratana, which is discussing the question of the interpretation of the Treaty of Wait&ngi, is still proceeding. The following resolution has been carried: “That the petition submitted to the conference and signed by an approximate number of 29,000 Maoris in respect of rights contained in the Treaty of W'aitangi, we, the separate tribes under the Ratana movement, do hereby appeal to those who have not yet signed, and who reside in the varioeus electorates, for their co-operation, to support the petition, by requesting that legislation be enacted or a Royal Commission be appointed to investigate tho Maori grievances."
