In Bed on the Street!
’VARSITY STUDENT SUBJECT OF CURE FOR LATE SLEEPERS. Without a blush on his face, or a wrinkle of worry on his brow, a young man lay in bed just after 9 o’clock in Christchurch on a recent morning; and tho bed was on the footpath of Rolleston avenue, in full view of an amused public. But, in spite of his unworried look, the young man was not a willing lie-a-bed at the moment. He was tied t it with ropes. Over tho fence of one of the houses of Rollcston house, close by, three laughing students watched him. He was, it is said, rather fond of his bed. To euro him, his comrades tied him in it, and let the world know about it. Tho world was amused. After a 15-minute struggle he freed himself, and dragging his bed behind him, went inside. “I don’t want to bo an early bird. 1 hate worms,” he told the smiling on* lookers.
