Five and Ten Cent Annie
Louise Fazenda has made you laugh many a time, but it is not only Louise who will greet you in Warner Master Pictures' comedy, “Five and Ten Cent Annie, which is screening at the Kosy, but Clyde Cook, Louise’s diminutive team mate, and Bill Demarest, tho rough and ready. These three head the cast, which includes Gertrude Astor, Douglas Gerrard, Tom Ricketts and Eddie HafEnUr. The story is by Leon Zurade and Charles Condon did the scenario, while Roy del Ruth directed. The amusing plot recounts the love adventures of Annie, clerk in the five and ten, and Elmer, an amorous and timid street cleaner. The latter unexpectedly falls heir to a million and a valet. Briggs, the valet, played by Demarest, chagrined because he_ has not inherited the cash, proceeds to make life one long nightmare for Elmer, who has now married Annie. Briggs has his timorous master shanghaied. Annie follows, dressed as an able-bodied seaman, and as astonishing a hurly-burly of complications results as ever rocked an audience • into hysterical approval.
