Easter Motor Cycle Meeting at Napier

FOUR FALL IN ONE EVENT. Per Press Association. NAPIER, Last Night. Tho Napier Motor Racing Club’s Easter meeting concluded to-day in fine weather, rain over-night having little effect on tho track. Thcro was a better attendance of tho public. The riders put up good times. Sovcral accidents occurred during tho day, the most serious being in tho Scindc middle-weight championship, when J. Gowor fell, bringing tho three following riders, I. Sutherland, A. D. Walters and H. H. H. Leppian, with him. All escaped with a severo shaking, except Leppian, who sustained a fractured wrijst. Results:— Open handicap, seven laps: P. Flotchor (65secs.) 1, J. Iv. Waters (-10) 2, D. Smith (35) 3. Won by 200 yards, the third man 10 yards back. Tirno, 7min. 43 secs.

Perry handicap, six laps: N. Zcmaneli (20) 1, It. D. Duff (scr.) 2, N. Etheridge (25) 3. Won by 500 yards, 50 yards between second and third. Time, Grain. 26 1-osces. Jockey Club handicap, six laps: R. S. Penniall (10) .1, V. Atkins (50) 2, J. Gower (35) 3. Won by 100 yards, the third man 50 yards back. Time, Grain. 57secs. Easter open handicap, eight laps: N. Etheridge (45) 1, P. Fletcher (25) 2, D. Smith (10) 3. Won by 75 yards, the third man ten yards back. Time, S mins. 49secs. Hawke’s Bay light-weight championship, seven laps: D. K. Collison 1, R. D. Duff 2, N. Zcmanek 3. Won by 75 yards, third GOO yards back. Time, 7min. 6 4-ssecs. Scindo middle-weight championship, soven laps: R. S. Penniall 1, E. Pink 2, P. Fletcher 3.
