Scottish Concert at Opera House To-night

As a fitting finale to the Manawatu Caledonian Society’s Easter sports gathering at the Showgrounds to-day a grand Scottish concert has been ar ranged for the Opera house this evening. Not only will it bo an attraction to Scots but tho public generally will welcome tho splendid programme which has been arranged. Supported by the best vocal talent in tho Manawatu, the champions of tho day wdll make their appearance in pipo selections, Highland reels, jigs and dances while Mr. D. Stark together with Mrs. E. Ransom Myers will supply tho humour of the evening. Miss Noami Whalloy will be heard in several numbers, including the well-known “Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond” and “Bluo Bells of Scotland.” Mr. W. Watters should also make a decided appeal with “Afton Water” and “Tho Highlanders’ Toast.” Tho Palmerston North public is also well acquainted with Mr. W. W. Marshall and will look forward to his appearance, also that of Miss G. D. Cameron. Mrs. Ransom Myers in her popular number “Coming Through the Rye,” the sheauntriubhs, Highland fling and other items complete an excellent night’s entertainment.
