Palmerston North Orchestral Society

Considerable interest is being taken by musical people in the endeavour the Palmerston North Orchestral Society is making to resume active work. Already quito a number of new players have expressed a desire to assist, but so far the particular instruments required have not been offered. Clarinets, bassoons and oboe players are want ed, and cornets, euphoniums and trombones must be available before it can bo decided to commence rehearsals.. It would bo a great pity if the society could not resume, but it is agreed by all' that unless a full complement of players is assured, it would not be fair to arrange for a conductor. However, the matter will be fully discussed on Monday night at the annual meeting, and it remains with the players themselves whether or not the society will commence active work. Let us hope there will be a large attendance of those interested.
