SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING From Our Own Correspondent. At tho monthly meeting of* the Hal* comibe School Committee the chairman (Rev. To Punga) presided, other members present being Messrs B. Wishnowskv, W. B. Paulding and L. L. Siegel The services of an assitaut having been obtained, necessitating tho use of the third room, tho committee decided to raise the caretaker’s fee until such time, as the Education board advanced the school a grade. Satisfaction Was expressed re the efficiency of the caretaker in the carrying out of her duties.

A grant was made of £4 10s, being tbc proceeds donated by the promoters of the gymnasium concert, which will carry a subsidy from the board, to Mr E. Long (headmaster) for the purchase of suitable pictures for the interior of the school’s rooms..

Harvest Festival. At a meeting of the Ladies’ Guild, held at the Methodist Church, it was decided to hold the Harvest Festival services on Sunday, March 30. A sale ef produce will take place on the evening of March 31. Personal. Mrs W. Davies is spending a holiday at Napier, where she is the guest of her parents.
