The first shark tragedy for 50 years at Brighton beach occurred yesterday. Norman Clark, aged 18, was attacked while bathing near the pier and terribly mauled, He was dragged into the bay and his body has not yet been recovered.
His lady companion was an eyewitness of the shocking affair. The crowd saw the shark seize Clark by the buttocks and drag him under time and time again. His cries became fainter and fainter, until nothing was left but the blood-stained water.
