Fred Young (England) 13.13, knocked out George Moderich (New Zealand) 14.1 in the third round at the Melbourne Stadium to-night. It was an unsatisfactory ending to an even bout. Moderich was off his balance and went down to a light tap in tho third round. The majority considered tho final blow was delivered while Modcrick was in a sitting position. It was an unpopular decision. Tho New Zealander was in no way distressed and was cheered at tho finish.
