ACCIDENT AT PUKEORA, DAUGHTER IN HOSPITAL IN SERIOUS CONDITION. Per Pres* Association. WAIPUKURAU, Feb. 3. A serious motor accident occurred on the Pukeora sanatorium hill yesterday afternoon. . A car driven by Mr. J. J. Mansliclu, of Palmerston North, containing . his wife and three children and a niece, was proceeding from Palmerston North to Napier, when it plunged over a 30foot bank, owing to the steering rod breaking. Mrs. Mansfield was thrown through tho windscreen, sustaining extensive cuts, abrasions and shock. One of the daughters was badly crushed about the chest and body and was admitted to tho Waipukurau hospital in a serious condition. . Tho other occupants are suffering from bruises and shock. Mr. Mansfield resides at Milson s line, and is a wool sliper by occupation.
