Glider Takes Off From Dirigible Los Angeles

The first glider ever launched from an airship slipped off the tail of the dirigible Los Angeles, cruising at 3000 feet. Seated in a 200 pounds monoplane glider, Lieutenant Ralph Barna* by, only licensed glider pilot in the United States Navy, gracefully circied Lake Hurst, crossing and re-crossing the field a dozen times and landing 15 minutes after he left the airship.
