GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY TO BE UNDERTAKEN
Mr. Ernest Wallisch, a member of the geophysical survey group of the Elbof Company, has arrived in Woodville. He has brought with him an extensive electrical plant, which is to be stored in YVoodville until the camp is established at Maharabara for the survey of the copper deposits there. It is expected that a commencement will bo made with the survey on January 3, and the period occupied in completing the work will probably be two months. The leader of the group is Mr. N. Mcdriniak, graduated mining engineer, from tho University of Leoben, in Austria. He is expected to arrive from Wellington on January 2. Progress Teports will be made to the Elbof Company in Germany, which will present a final report to the New Zealand company that has undertaken the survey.
A bow-legged man was standing before a very hot stove warming himself. A small boy watched him intently for a time and then said: “I say, mister, you’re standing too near the stove; you’re a-warpin!”
