From Our Own Correspondent. School Concert. What was considered one of the most successful concerts heard in Kiwitea was given by the school pupils last Friday evening. The hall was full to capacity and everyone enjoyed a delightful evening’s entertainment. The success was greatly duo to the untiring efforts of Miss Judy Banks in teaching tho children their dances and songs, also to Mr. White and the parents, who all worked hard. During the programme, a -very amusing dialogue was given by Messrs W. H. Gibson and A. Banks. The concert was / followed by a short farce, which, to judge by the laughter and applause from the audience, was also a success. The dance which followed was kept up until tho early hours of the morning and was greatly enjoyed by both the children and grown-ups. The programme was as follows:—Song, % “Little Baggy Breeches,” Mrs. Gibson with chorus; songs, Nursery Rhymes, little ones; recitation, ‘ ‘ Forgiven, ” G. Jansen; dialogue, “Taking the Canary for a Walk,” Messrs Gibson and Banks; song, “Sunshine and Rain,” Mr. W. Niccolls; dance “Spring,” P. Graham, I. Kilgour, G. Williams, B. Coopo, M. Graham, K. Batchelar, B. Salmon; song, “To a Miniature,” N. Gibson, D. do Moy; solo, “The Love Nest,” Mrs. Gibson; dialogue, “The Houso at Pooh Corner,” B. Cranston, F. Stack, S. Craine; dance (pony ballet), M. Cranston, B. Salmon, K. Batchelar, M. Graham, B. Cranston; recitation, “Tho Girls of Miss Milligan’s School,” G. Williams; songs (in Maori), B. Salmon; shadowgraph, “The Dentist,” B. Cooper, P. Lutze, F. McCoy, D. Jansen; farce, “Mrs. Baxter’s Baby,” J. Banks, B. Banks, G. Lintott, T. Freke, C. Elliott. Mr. Gibson then moved a vote of thanks to Mrs. Banks for enabling her daughters to help and to Miss Judy Banks and all those who helped make the concert a success. Miss Banks and Miss Ross were then presented with bouquets, inside one of which Miss Banks found a gold signet ring, a gift from the school children. Guy Fawkes Night. On Tuesday night, there was a largo gathering of both children and grownups at the bonfire in Mr. Gibson’s paddock. Mr. White purchased a large supply of fireworks and together with those brought by others the children spent a very exciting two hours. The dance which followed made an excellent ending to a most enjoyable evening. During the dance, paper hats, which had been beautifully made by Mrs. Shand, were handed round; white all tho children received “squeakers,” the gift of Miss E. Mitchell.,
