WOODVILLE
From Our Own Correspondent,
Although the weather clerk still shows a decided lack of sympathy, this did not deter quite a number of ladies from attending an afternoon held at the residence of Mrs Matheson, Bevaa street,- Woodville, in the interests of funds for St. Bg-vid’s Ladies’ Guild. Scottish songs and gramophone' records lent a Highland flavour to the gathering. A number of amusing competitions were indulged in, the winners pn/Ving to be Mesdames Kirkpatrick, J. Giles anid Miss Alexander. A most appetising'afternoon tea, in which a “Scottish bun” held pride of place was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and as a result of the afternoon the guild funds were augmented by quite a tidy little sum. Pictures. The mysterious Hindoo, the looting of the Limited, the kidnapping of Jim, the daring bank robbery, the mysterious call from the ether, and the attempt to dynamite the armoured car are but a few of the episodes in the film to bo screened at Woodville tomorrow evening. The title of the picture is “The Cowboy Kid,” featuring Bex Bell, the new Western star.
