METHODIST BAZAAR. From Our Own Correspondent. A very successful bazaar in aid of the Methodist Church was held in the Town hall on Tuesday. The attractive stalls and variod competitions made the place, until quite late, a hive of industry. The stall-holders were as follow: Sewing stall, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. L. Gould; produce, Mrs. L. Guy, Mrs. Pratt, and Mrs. K. Searle; sweet and cake stall, Misses Osborne and Searle; bran tub, Miss L, Osborne; fruit salad, Miss J. Searle; flower show, Mrs. Jensen; cooking, Mrs. R. Osborne; judges, Mr and Mrs. Haytkorn and Mrs. W. Jenkins; lunch and supper, Mesdames L. Purnell, C. Searle, W. Gill, Misses Elgby, Pratt, and Purnell. The cooking and the flower exhibits wore two important features. The tug-of-war was well contested, teams from Urnutoi and Aplti competing. The Apiti team held-it sown against the Urnutoi No. 2 team, but after a gruelling contest was narrowly defeated by Urnutoi No. 1 team consisting of Messrs J. Baddy, E. Boddy, C. Searle and E. A. Cheyne. The Apiti ladies’ team, consisting of Misses W. Jensen, Thomson, O. Malcolm, and M. Digby defeated the Urnutoi ladies’ team. These contests were an outstanding feature of the ovening. The men’s nail driving competition was wop by Mr Wild bo re and the ladies’ by Miss Thompson. Miss W. Jensen was first for the ladies’ cork spearing, and Mr Roberts for the men’s. The ladies’ quoits was won by Mrs. L. Gould, and the men’s by Mr W. Pratt. The sheep guessing competition was won by Mr B. Cameron. The girls’ skipping was won by Madge McKay and Freda Prince. The following is a list of the winners in the cooking competition: Shortbread: Mrs. Hooper 1, Miss M. Thomson 2.

A. Gould 1, Mrs. L. Guy 2. Fruit Oake: • Mrs. Hooper 1, Mrs, Mapson 2. Eggless Oake: Mrs. W. T. Pratt 1, Mrs A. Dick 2.

Sponge Sandwich: Mrs. W. T. Pratt 1, Mrs. H. Jansen 2. Sponge Boll: Mrs. H. Jensen 1, Mrs, Mapson 2. Pikelets: Mrs. Hooper 1, Mrs. Hennings 2.

Jam Tarts: Mrs. W. T. Pratt 1. The winners in the flower section were:

Flowering Shrubs: Miss W. Jensen 1, Mrs. Knight 2. On Friday evening the Table Flat Tennis Club entertained the Kahcke Tennis Club to a social and dance in the Table Flat school. A very enjoyable evening of dancing, games, and competitions was had by all. Personal. Miss Array, of Temuka, who has been holidaying in Australia is at present visiting Mrs. W. T. Pratt. Wo regret to state that Mrs. Osborne is an inmate of the hospital, having undergone an operation. Mr and Mrs. G. Duncan are visiting Auckland.
