At tho Addington market, store sheep fully- maintained last week’s values, with a shade of improvement, but fat cattle and fat sheep both eased in price. Store sheep had the smallest, entry for some weeks. The quality was very naso- 1 and the prices showed little change. Medium (3 and S-th. crossbred owes made to 31s; good 4 and 0-toothed lialfbred wethers, 27s to 28s Cd; ordinary 4 and G-th. halfbred wethers, 24s to 265; two and 4-th. halfbred wethers, to 24s 9d; good halfbred ewe hoggets, to 28s 6d; good Corricdalo wether hoggets, to 21s 10d; ordinary halfbred wether hoggets, to 19s; ordinary threequarterbred ewe hoggets, to 255; good three-quarterbred wether hoggets, to 22s 4d; ewes .and lambs, to 15s Sd. Fat sheep enjoyed a slightly larger entry, with prices down from Is 6d to 2s a head for heavy sheep and to Is 6d for lighter. Prime heavy wethcr3 realised 39s to 445; medium-weight prime wethers, 35s to 38s 6d; ordinary, 31s to 345; light, 26s 6d to 31s; extra prime ewes, 46s to 47s 4d; prime, 32s to 37s 6d; medium, 27s to 31s; light, 21s to 265; hoggets, 24s to 30s. There was an entry of 402 fat cattle with a big proportion of very good quality, including several outside lines. The result was a drop in prices of from £2 to £2 10s in heavy steers, with lighter sorts down by up to £2 per head. Good prime beef made from 53s to 55s per hundred lbs.; odd pens making to 57s 6d; medium steers, 49s to 52s 6d per hundred lbs.; heavy beef, 47s to 51s; good cow, 48s to 51s; secondary, 40s to 455. and inferior, down to 36s per hundred lbs. prime heavy steers made to £27 17s 6d; heavy-weight prime steers, £22 to £25; prime mid-weight steers, £l9 to £22; medium quality, £l6 10s to £lB 10s; light, £l2 10s to £l6; extra prime heifers, to £l7 17s 6d; prime, £ls to £l6 15s; medium, £l2 15s to £l4 15s; light, £8 10s to £l2; extra prime cows, to £l7 17s 6d; prime cows, £l4 10s to £l6 10s; medium, £l2 to £l4 ss; light and aged cows, £8 to £ll 15s. Values of vealers showed no alteration. Twelve to 18 months old calves made to £l2; good vealers, £6 7s 6d to £8; medium, £4 17s 6d to £6; calves, 35s to 50s. Store cattle had a heavier entry with values scarcely retaining last week’s level. Three-year steers made to £lO 13s 6d and best cows from £8 10s to Dairy cattle had a brisk demand, with values showing a little improvement. Values were: Second and third calvers, £lO 10s to £l4; ordinary cows, £8 to £10; best heifers, £lO 10s to £35. In the fat pigs section, the entry was small, the market showing a slight increase. Choppers made £3 to £6 18s 6d; baconers, £3 15s to £5 11s 6d (average price per lb., 7d to 7*d); porkers, 44g to 58s 6d (average price per lb., 9d to 9Jd). Store pigs had a larger yarding, prices being on a par with last week. Stores made 19s 6d to £2 5s 6d; slips, 14s to 19s; weaners, 6s to 245.
