When Mr. Ramsay MacDonald packs for his American visit, Miss Ishbel MacDonald, his twenty-six-year-old daughter, will be in charge of the operations. While the attention of the world s statesmen will be directed to Mr. MacDonald, the eyes of every woman in America will bo turned to tho daughtoi, the hostess of No. 10 Downing Street, who has been described by the Queen as a “thoroughly charming girl." Miss Ishbel bids fair to bo the 1928 “Belle of Now York." It is learned that all New York society is anxious to- meet her, as the fame of the Prime Minister’s daughter has spread far and wide. They wish to honour the girl who does not smoke and docs not dance who is versed in domestic virtues and, while looking after tho Prime Minister’s important guests, finds time to play an important part in London’s municipal and social hvork. . . . Hundreds of invitations from American hostesses and public bodies are pouring into Downing Street. ; _ Tho guests will sec a slim, uprigh girl with a mass of fluffy brown hair, who speaks in a low, even voice, which now and again breaks into an infectious laugh. ,
