GOLF

FEILDING- v. MANAWATU. Next week-end the Feilding Golf Club will send its A team to play the Manawatu Club on the Hokowhitu links, whilst the Manawatu B team will play on the Feilding links. Members wishing to visit Fcilding are requested to put down their names •on the list in the professionals’ room at the links.

In regard to the New Zealand championships, to be played at Wanganui from September 2(5 to October 3, although the entries are limited and a national handicap is required for those entering for the open and amateur championships, amateurs with a club handicap of IS or under can enter at the meeting. In the handicap events competitors play on their club handicap, not their national handicap. There is a handicap event open to players of IS handicap and under on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the championships, and as there is only one event each day there is no limit to the number of entries that can be accepted.
