MUSIC RESULTS. From Our Own Correspondent. The following are the results of tho theory examination held on June ,8, in connection with Trinity College of Music, London, at the Brigidino Convent, Foxton: — Higher local: Clarice Walsh 67 (pass). Senior: Gladys McMillan 87 (honours), Rena Warwick 70 (pass). Advanced intermediate: Kathleen Hornblow SO (honours), Bertha Gower 70 (pass). Intermediate: Florence Syrnon 90 (honours), Mary Josephine Martin 6S (pass). Junior: Mary Martin 95 (honours). Jean E. Francis 93 (honours). Preparatory: Dympna V. Smith 98 (honours), Phyllis McDowell 74 (pass) Golf. A men’s team representing the Levin GoLf Club journeyed to Foxton on Saturday afternoon, when it met on tho Harrington links, a team selected from the local club. Although the, weather was fine, thero was a cold wind blowing across the links. Nevertheless a very enjoyable time was spent and the game, which was full of interesting play, ended in a win for the visitors. The following are the detailed results of the game:—M. B. Bergin (F.) beat Adams (L), Todd (L) halved with J. Newton junr. (F), Brown (L) halved with C. M. Howett (F), Bull (L) beat A. P. Easton (F), Phillips (L) beat D. R. Ogilvy (F), Percy (L) beat F. A. Mason (F), Smaill (L) beat J. Newton (F), W. H. Walton (F) beat Davies (L). Beautifying Society. The local Boautifying Society held a meeting on Monday night. There were present Mr M. E. Perrcau (president), Messrs D. It. Barron, D. Christie and J Iv. Hornblow. A discussion took place concerning the question of raising funds and it was eventually decided that a shop day be held at an early date. It was also decided to request the Borough Council to make a grant to the society in order that certain work already undertaken, may be completed.
