PERSONALITIES
ALL BRITISH. How many people who profess to he loyal Britishers are actually sc when it comes to a matter of £ s d ? There is ooe man at least in Palmerston North who as an ardent Imperialist practices what he preaches. He is Ernest B. Jennings, secretary of the Whakarongo Co-op. Dairy Coy. and Manawatu Jersey Breeders’ Club. E. B. J. will tell you that if he were in Parliament he would move for a start to prohibit the importation of all things foreign. Tor him everything as far as possible must be Empire made and he not only says this. Ho acts on his contentions. No foreign parcels lie on his desk; they were made in Britain. It is not right, he says, that we should patronise others when the Mother Country wants our trade and we can give it to her.
