PRELIMINARY WORK ON AORANGI BRIDGE

PILES BEING DRIVEN. Under the supervision of the Feilding Borough engineer (Mr. T. IC Hay) a number of concrete piles are being made on the site of the new Aorangi bridge over the Oroua river at Feilding. Certain test piles were being driven by the Public. "Works Department and the piles now being made aTe additional test ones required and these will be driven by the successful contractor. The town clerk announces that all the interested local bodies have approved of the plans and specifications and have consented to the borough’s proposal that immediate steps be taken to call tenders for the work. Mr. Harding is now preparing tne notice calling for the tenders and it is anticipated that an announcement will be made in the course of a day or two.
