The fact that industry is to remain in tho cbhfrol of tho Commonwealth Government has prompted representatives of tho ujjjons concerned to formulate a plan by which industrial matters can in future be handl'd amicably. The unions have agreed on a scheme whereby a council covering sectional interests would be appointed. It would consist of three representatives of the employers and three representatives of the employees, with an independent chairman appointed by the council or by the Governor-General. This plan has been submitted to the Commonwealth Government.
