EXCELSIOR BEAT TIPAPAKUKU. Before a fair gathering of spectators under fine weather conditions tho Hunter shield match was resumed on Saturday the final scores being Excelsior 16, Tipapakuku 9. Mr. J. Cowley refereed the game. Snell Cup. High School 17, v. H.S .Old Boys 6. Sub-Union Shield. Bangers beat High School by 26 to 3. $ General. Bro. L. Bain presided over the fortnightly meeting of the Court Rising Sun Lodge; A vote condolence was passed to the relatives of tho late Bro. Henry Adams. The captain -of the card team stated that the tournament for the season had now ended and had proved very enjoyable for participating teams. Mr. J. Munro topped the score in the recent monthly competition of the Danncvirke Miniature Rifle club whilst Miss Bishop came first in tho ladies' match.

Tho matron of tho Dannevirke Public hospital (Miss Brown) is at present on. a visit to Wanganui and New Plymouth. Otawhao. Mr. Hutchinson, manager of tho Takapau Co-op. Dairy Co. Ltd. is at present on annual leave. Matamau. Mr. J. A. Stratford, junr., has returned from his visit to Auckland.
