Captain Eckener, when interviewed regarding the world tour of the Graf Zeppelin, said that a start must be made before August 15 in order to avoid typhoons, which would easily smash and crumple up tho dirigible. Ho expects to average a speed of 65 miles an hour. Of the 20 passengers Lady Drummond Hay will be the only woman. Tho others will be American and Japanese naval officers and several journalists. The cost of the world cruise will be £25,000, including insurance of tho Zeppelin to the extent of £160,000. The Zeppelin will carry several bandied pounds of mail. “But this time,” added Captain Eckener, “there will bo no monkeys. If stowaways are found on board, I mean to give them a parachute and tell them to jump."
