Weddings

JOYCE—WILLACY.

A wedding of much interest to the district, was solemnised in the Presbyterian church, Hawera, on Tuesday, July 2, the contracting parties being Miss Annie (Pansy) Willacy, sister ol' Mrs. E. Fergusson, Oroua Downs and Mr. Albert William Joyce, second son of Mrs. Joyce, Regent street, Hawera. The Rev. Evans officiated and Mr. Thornburn, late of Foxton, presided at the organ. Tho bride entered the church escorted by her brother-in-law, Mr. Fergusson, was attired in a dawn crepe-de-ckcne and lace frock with an over-dress of georgette, shoes and stockings to match; a beautiful hand-made Honitan lace veil (lent by Mrs. Martin, of Kopane) and clusters of orange blossom, maidenhair and asparagus fern, which completed a charming toilette. She w r as attended by her neico, Miss Mary Fergusson as bridesmaid, who wore a sea green, crepe-de-chene frock with frills of georgette and a head dress of silver leaves and roses to match. She carried a shower bouquet of pale pink carnations, heath and maidenhair fern and wore a gold armlet, tho gift of tho bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Jack Joyce, as best man.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at tho Carlton tea rooms, Mrs. Fergusson receiving the guests wearing a brown woollen crepe-de-chene dress and brown felt hat. Later in tho afternoon the happy couplo left for the north" by car, the bride travelling in a chocolate brown silk crepe matador frock, trimmed with fawn, fawn and brown felt hat, brown shoes and stockings, and fawn coat. On Monday afternoon, the staff of the Post and Telegraph department, Hawera, presented Mr. Joyce with a beautiful tea set and case of stainless knives.

Mr. and Mrs. Joyce intend making ;heir future home in Hawera.
