STATISTICS OF GAME OF BOWLS IN NEW ZEALAND
314 CLUBS, WITH 16,086 MEMBERS

WELLINGTON, Last Night. According to an official return furnished by the Dominion Bowling association, thore were last season 314 bowling clubs in Now Zealand with an aggregate membership of 16,086. Of these clul)3, 186 were in the North Island, with a membership of 10,328 and 128 clubs with, a membership of 5758, were in the South Island. During the year, the increase in the North Island was 49 members, whilst in the South Island, a decrease of seven was recorded. The increase in tho aggregate membership of clubs for the past four years was 902. The Wellington club, with 195 members, has the largest membership in New Zealand. Next in order of numerical strength aro Carlton club (Auckland) 171, Rcmuera club (Auckland) 168 and Auckland club 157. Tho largest centro membership is that of Auckland, with 2852 members, compared with 1609 members in the Wellington centre 1583 in the Christchurch centro and 1331 in the Dunedin centre.
