Still Squally

A deep depression has now passed east of New Zealand, but the pressure is still very low right across the south Tasman Sea to Tasmania. The westerly weather is therefore likely to persist. Expect winds between north-west and south-west, moderate to strong generally and in places reaching gale force, especially from Cook Strait northwards The sea will be moderate in most coastal waters south of East Cape, but otherwise generally rough, or on parts of the West Coast, heavy; strong westerly winds to gales and rough seas in the eastern Tasman. The weather will still be squally, changeable and unsettled, with intermittent rain in most districts, but scattered only in eastern parts and further heavy falls in districts with a westerly aspect, with snow on tho ranges of the South Island.
