I Mr. A. H. W. Thompson has been appointed relieving teacher at VVoocivil le school. Mr. W. A. Sanders has been appointed a commissioner for the Kiritaki school, in lieu of a school committee. Dr'. W. H. Pettit, of Auckland, lecturer, arrived from the north yesterdaj and is the guest of Eev. F. A. and Mrs. Grawshaw, Milverton avenue. Mr. W. J. Dunn, the well-known theatrical agent, is in Palmerston North arranging for the appearance of Pat Hanna’s “Famous Diggers" at tho Opera House on Saturday next. During the absence of Mr. C. W. Ennis, who has gone on . holiday to Auckland, the duties of district manager of tho local branch of the A.M.P. Society will be carried out by Mr.. C. E. Bridge, of the Hoad Office relieving staff.

E. Hardgravc, captain of the Newton Eugby League Football club and a New Zealand Lcaguo representative, has accepted an offer from St. Helens' club, Lancashire and will leave shortly for England. He is the eighth Auckland footballer within a period of threo years to accept an engagement in England.—P.A.
