CLEVER BURGLARS AROUND TARANAKI
£3OO HAUL IN NEW PLYMOUTH. TWO CASH EEGISTEES EIFLED. Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night. The premises of C. C. Ward, Ltd., drapers, wore entered on Friday night and just over £3OO was stolen. Nest morning, the strongroom door and safe were found open, and the cash contouts missing. There is .nothing to indicate how the building was entered and it is thought clever burglars were at work. Only notes and coins were taken and all cheques left. Two cash registers were rifled without damage to the mechanism, showing that the thieves know or discovered the combinations of the locks. It is now revealed a Hawera establishment was recently robbed of. goodi and £9O.
