TIMBERMAN’S REPLY TO FRUITGROWERS
Por Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Last Night. The secretary of the Timber Workers 'union, Mr. F. Turfey, lias written to the Primo Minister regarding the Nelson fruitgrowers’ plea for the admission of timber duty free for use as packing boxes. Mr Turley urges that the guarantee of 11s asked by the growers be limited to fruit packed in boxes made of New Zealand timber and contends the only reason for seeking foreign timber is to secure a cheaper article.
