In the tennis finals at Surbiton, Miss Betty Nuthall beat Miss Ryan, 7—5, C —l; Misses Nuthall and Ryan beat Misses Pry and Sterry, 6 —4, 6—3. The newspapers are jubilant at Betty Nuthall’s defeat of Miss Ryan, declaring her length, driving and accurate placing on both wings nonplussed her opponent, whom Betty consistently passed when she was trying to come in to the net for her famous chops. FRENCHMEN TAEE BOTH SEMI-FINALS. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. PARIS, May 25. In tho French tennis final of the mixed doubles, Bouman and Senorita D’Alvarez beat Heine and Miss Neave, 7—5, 6—2. In the semi-finals, Cochet and Brugnon beat Collins and Gregory, 6 —3, 6—4, 6 — 3; Lacoste and Borotra beat Tilden and Huilter, 6—3, 6—2, 3—6, 6—3.
