MANAWATU HUNT

GOOD SPORT AT AOKAUTERE. Though it rained the 'whole time, quite a large field of followers assembled at the Aokautero hall on Saturday afternoon and three good checks were witnessed by a crowd of spectators. The paddocks were in fine condition and the hounds ran fast and true, taking the field along at a merry pace. The trail crossed the roads in three places and the spectators witnessed some fine jumping at theso doubles. The drags were laid by Messrs G. V. Shannon, on Friendliness and A. A. Webb, on Lieut. Bill.

Those who rode to hounds were Messrs D. B. McEwen (Deputy Master) on Snowflake; J. J. Waller (Huntsman) Bob Boy; W. Scott (Hon. Whip) Calculation; Mrs Meade, Prudence; Miss M. Webb, Brown Johnnie; Miss M. Benton, Askari; Miss L. Meade, Valencia; Miss P. Meade, Pippin; Miss Meads, Birkenosc; Messrs W. W. Andrews, Workman; D. Scott, BJood Bed; B. H. Meade, Gay Bobbie; M. E. Wood, Olympic; S. Bailey, To Arakura; P. Lane, Cherya; T. Lindloy, Trouble; A. Parker, Royanant. After the final check, all present adjourned to the public hall, where they were entertained at afternoon tea by Mesdames R. B. Scott, W. Gosling, senr., and Alex. Ferguson. The Deputy Master (Mr D. B. McEwen) proposed a hearty vote of thanks to their hostesses for their kind hospitality, and to the property owners whose paddocks were used for the hunt. Both votes were carried with cheers,
