LAWYER COMPELLED TO PURCHASE VILLA
AT REVOLVER POINT. Australian Press Association. Received Sunday, 7 p.m, / ROME, May 25. An Antibes lawyer named Martelly told the police an amazing story of how he had been forced to purchaso at Nice a villa owned by a silk merchant, one Jules Jacques. The latter received him with charming affability. He went into the house, whereupon Jacques produced a revolver and said “You aro going to buy this house for 130,000 francs.” He forced Martelly to sign a cheque, then locked him in a cupboard while Jacques cashed it at the bank beforo disappearing.
