FROM THE HUB
Dear Cog-, ....... 1 do wish you could just get a "limpso of my table. I am sure you v.njuld all want to sit down and do some sorting of the rights and wrongs in the Skilltests and competitions and letters that arc before me now. 1 can honestly say I have never had such a busy week. And you are quite right John. I must have been busy last week when 1 omitted to announce the winners of the Atotor Car competition. lc is a big disappointment to Cogs not to sec that in the paper, especially as they tell me they are always up bright and early waiting for the paper on Satuiday morning. Jean McCulloch, Dudley Briston, and Ewan McDonald, were the successful competitors last week. You will fiud the winners of this week’s prizes elsewhere on the page. Cog* to be welcomed this week are Irene Colder, Robert Alar!in, Ronald Russell, Joyce Inglc-y, Annie Marla ml, Ngacro Kliuk, Sam Lewis, Eliys Jenkins, Hazel Hall, Alary Eeugley, Cullccn Cork ill, Kona Russell, Joan Chester, Phyllis James, Leila Powell, A iolet Long, Dora. AYild, Winnie Crawford. AVe extend them a very hearty welcome.
I wonder if Dora would write a nice letter for her page. She wrote such a nico note to me that I am sure she is a very clever girl. All* the Cogs arc delighted with the letters that Kex writes, and they are asking for more. Kex wrote to me from Wanganui, where he is spending his term holidays. Ho says lie cannot do without the Cog page, so his Daddy posts it to him. Stanley writes a most exciting letter about tho aeroplanes. He had never seen ono before. The letters on the plane mean: “Goodwin Chichester Aviation Company,” who arc the agents for the Avro Avian Company. “N.Z.” means that if is New Zealand plane. Phillip is a very ambitious laddie. He is g'oing to work very hard at school and hopes then to go to Massey College. He will like that, fam sure. There is nothing better than farm work, fresh air, and sunshine.
Cogs, do remember to write on oneside of tho paper only. It makes it so much easier for me. Thank you. You will like the new competition for next week. The answers arc tho names of flowers and vegetables. AVc arc going to have a painting competition soon. AVe will then sec- what good little colour artists wc have in our midst.
AVould Gordon AViggins, Ask-hurst, and Duleie Search, Palmerston North, fill in the coupon at tho top of the Skilltcst block, and send in 3d. for a badge. You see, dears, I must have your ago and birthday and 3d. before I can send a badge. Read the conditions carefully and there will be no mistakes. Good-bye just now. Look clscw'herc for prize-winners. Best wishes, THE HUB.
