AUSTRALIAN HOCKEY TEAM TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND

rpHOUGH at first feared that the clash of dates with the big inter-State hockey carnival would prevent Australia from accepting the invitation for a tour of New Zealand, the trip will definitely take place. The game is this season enjoying a boom across the Tasman, and the tour should do much to bring hockey to its previous and popular standing in New Zealand.

The visiting team will consist of about 16 players, drawn from the five States. No definite date has been announced as to its departure, but it will probably leave Sydney early in July. It is also proposed to extend the tour to Suva, which may be visited first, to shorten the trip, and then Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington.
