From Our Own Correspondent. The Ran.giwahia branch of the Plum ket Society gave Nurse Cray, who leaves shortly for the South Island to bo married, a farewell dinner at the hotel ou Friday. Mrs Guthrie, on behalf of the members, presented Nurse Gray with a. beautiful crystal water jug and half a. dozen glasses. Mrs Guthrie also expressed much regret at the loss of such a popular and efficient nurse. Nurse Gray suitably responded. Mr Coupcr thanked Mrs Swift for preparing such an excellent dinner. Among those present were Mesdnmes M. Guthrie, A. Morgan, G. Kroger, if. Coupcr, <J. Thompson, 3 Morgan, A. Tompkins, C. Smith, LI. Burke. W, LI. Bushier, G. Bose and LL Frankhauser. Apologies wove received from several members unable lo attend. Rifle Shoot On Saturday, May 31, a shoot was held on the Bata range for the Rhodes Cup, Turakina being the successful team. Many enthusiastic spectators witnessed a very good game of football on Saturday afternoon, when the W uit.una seniors came to Bangiwahia. The game, though very even, was won by the homo team, the scores being 7 to 3. For Bangiwahia G. Knight, scored a try and D. Say well kicked a goal. On Saturday night a very successful card party was held in aid of the K:irewarewa school prize fund, and a dainty supper was provided by thej ladies. Prize-winners were as follows; Euchre, men’s, Mr A. Morris, consolation Mr A. Wood; ladies, Miss E. Doihl, consolation Miss N. Meads. Cribbago, men’s, Mr A. Tompkins, consolation Mr C. Deilil; ladies’, Mrs 11. Thompson, consolation Airs C. Dei hi. Misses G. and T. Kroger. Mar.gauoku, are spending their holidays with their parents.
