Mr J. A. Colquhoun (Manawhcnua) was elected a vice-president of the Now Zealand Bugbv union at its annual meeting last evening. The new commander of tho Australian Navy, Rear-Admiral E. R. G. Evans, arrived at Sydney on board tho Mooltan yesterday with his family. The occasion was marked by a salute of guns from the warships _ and other naval ceremonies. —Cabled item. Mr. O. Moller, Dominion organiser o-f the United Party, is in town on organisation matters. He has completed a tcur of the West Coast and has had enthusiastic meetings throughout the district. A conference of electorate delegates will meet shortly in New Plymouth. Mr. Moller will return to Palmerston North in two weeks’ time.
