HEAVY BURDEN OF MOTOR TAXATION

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Replying to a deputation from tho Wellington Taxi proprietors who pointed out the anomalies existing as between tho various centres in regard to tho heavy vehicle tax and seeking relief from the heavy burden Wellington proprietors in particular are carrying, the Minister of Transport to-day stated that the Transport Board was working very hard on tho whole problem of motor taxation. He hoped, he said, to be able to afford some temporary measure of relief but could not make a statement at present. He recognised there were anomalies and that the burden was heavy.
