SIR GEOFFREY BUTLER, M.P. United Press Association— By Eloctri* Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 3. _ The death is announced of Sir Geoffrey Butler, M.P. (C.) for Cambrjdgo University since 1923, at the agv of 41.
Sir Geoffrey Butler, who was knighted (K.8.E.) in 1919, had a most distinguished academic career at Clifton and Cambridge, where he took first class in tho Historical Tripos, Parts L and 11., won tho Chancellor’s Modal for English Verse, was President of the Union, editor of the Cambridge Review, and later a Fellow of Corpus Chmsti College. D/ ing the war he was Director of the British Bureau of Information in U.S.A., where he married in 1916 Miss Levering Jones, of Philadelphia. Fc was the author of several historical and political works.
