FEILDING STOCK SALE

Late Rates Obtain FOR ALL CLASSES STOCK. Heavy yardings of both sheep and cattle came forward for the Feilding stock sale yesterday. The bulk of the entry of sheep were of inferior to medium quality and sold at late rates. Odd star Jots provoked competition and sold well. A line of fat lambs from the Feilding Young Farmers’ club changed hands for the highly satisfactory price of 37s (hi. Fat maiden ewes made to 3Ss and good fat wethers to 435. These were exceptional lines and the prices were above the average. Lambs of inferior to good quality represented the largest portion of the store sheep entry which included some special entry lines of breeding ewes in lamb to Southdown and to Romney rams.

There was a fair entry of dairy cattle which met with a good enquiry while store lines were represented by some nice pens of young good coloured cattle. These also sold at market rates and a small entry of fats were taken for local consumption at satisfactory prices.
