BETTER FARMS BILLS READY IN GREECE

TRAVELLING SCHOOLS ATHENS. A bill concerning agriculture in all its branches has been drawn up and will soon be submitted to the Chamber for ratification. A reorganisation of the Ministry of agriculture is needed to develop agriculture, to mako agricultural experiments, form co-operatives, establish the farmers and enact and apply agrarian law’s. In certain regions there will be established travelling schools to teach forestry, tree grafting, grape growing, apiculturo and dairy work. The students of these schools will bo workers and farmers recruited from among the rural population and they will be given a course lasting, from one to three months. Cinemas will be used a good deal to mako the school exercises more impressive and instructive. The efforts of the government to increase domestic production are now becoming apparent and the saving in the purchase of foreign exchange in 1928, caused by the smaller importation of wheat, is estimated at 800,000,000 drachmae, or considerably more than £2,000,000.
