PLUNKET SOCIETY
MONTHLY MEETING. Tiho monthly meeting of members of the Plunkct society took place yesterday, Miss McLagan presiding. Other members present were • Mesdames Aitchison (sec.), Fairbrother, Hansford, Free, Sinclair, Langley, Small, Rodgers, Bagnall and Spencer. Apologies were read from Mesdames Coombs (pres.) Belling, Grigor, Abraham, Murray and Mouhsey. Miss A. M. Kearns submitted the following report for; the month of March. Number of homes visited 270, number of visits to office (adults) 096, number /of visits to office (babies) 378, visits to office (older children) 110. Parcels of clothing received from Mesdames Campbell, Ford, FreidmaD, and Langley. Monetary donations from Mesdames Clevorley and Knight. Receipts for the month totalled £53 6s 7d. Foxton, homes visited 4, visits to office 126, (adults) 59, (tiabies) 45, ■ older children) ,22. Thero aTC 27 new nses at Palmerston North and one at ?oxton. During the afternoon, Mrs Aitchison appealed to the members present to support her in the scheme to ask the Plunket nurses to give short talks on Plunket work to the mothers and committee, as such a number did not grasp the right way to bring up and minister to their babies. Untold good could be done, by short talks that would bo helpful to the mothers. Mrs'Aitchison received the full support of those present, who thought the idea on excellent ono. The matter was left with the mover.
