MINERS START WORK; END TWO-YEAR HALT

WELSH ' VILLAGE OVERJOYED AT REOPENING OF COLLIERY. LONDON, One hundred miners sang Welsh hymns as they descended the Ocean Colliery at Blaengwynfl to resume work after two vears’ idleness, says a message from' Port Talbot. They were cheered by women and children, who have suffered ' great privations during the long stoppage. Before the end of tho week 500 men are expected to be working. Blaengwynfl is an isolated mining village in the Afan Valley, It was once the most prosperous mining area in the valley. When work failed many colliers went to work on Pembroke farms and a number of families emigrated. There is every hope of 800 men being employed in a month.
