LET US DO IT. Can anything be more tragic than an eld woman with an "imitation young" face? If from youth upward women were only taught that outward appearances were the direct results of inward consideration, the need of extravagant "make up" would soon ceaso to exist, A good complexion can be retained long after middle age, providing an intelligent interest is continually bestowed upon it. Regular, sensible, appetising food, that is according to taste as wed as to wisdom; plenty of outdoor exercise; a daily cleansing of the system, helped by drinking cold water and lemon juice and eating fruit, means the battle is more than half won. And then—because moderate external aid goes hand in hand with sane beauty culture the. old-fashioned nightly soap and water ablution, completed with a slight smearing of good, plain, cold cream. With the aid of a good powder and a touch of vanishing cream during the day, the results would be more successful than the expensive efforts at rejuvenation of modern times.
