The King has approved that th« honour of Knighthood be conferred upon Major Henry Segravc, who made x tho world land speed record of 231 miles an hour on Daytona beach and also won the motor-beat speed chain-' pionship at Miami. WONDERFUL WELCOME HOME. ALL BRITISH GOLDEN ARROW STOOD TEST. LONDON, April 13. Major Segravo had a great welcome in London. He was met by the Lord Mayor, Sir Chas Wakefield and leaders of the motor industry. There was a long motor procession through a vast cheertug crowd to the Palace Yard, outside Parliament, where Capt. D. H. Hacking welcomed him on behalf of the Government, emphasisifife the fact that 29 manufacturers had a share in making the Golden Arrow. The least flaw in design, material or workmanship would have led to disaster, but the British product, as usual, stood the test. The Golden Arrow could not bo disembarked in time to take part in the procession but is now being exhibited in a large store. It is going to the British pavilion at tho Milan Exhibr tion.
