FINANCE COMPANIES DEFRAUDED Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. In the Police Court this morning, Bernard Francis Francis was charged with obtaining £966 10s from the Otago and Southland Finance Corporation by false pretences and with securing £2OIB 15s 8d from the Mercantile Finance Corporation of Christchurch by false pretences. A third charge related to the forgery of t.wo hire purchase agreement forms. The offences took place in 1926 and 1927. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence.
